Which mail services does Vaimail work with?
Any mailbox with IMAP and SMTP. For dozens of services around the world the settings are filled in from your address. Gmail and Outlook.com connect through their official sign-in, so you don't need an app password. Some services (for example iCloud or Yahoo) ask for an app password — create it in your account's security settings. Proton Mail works through Proton Mail Bridge.
How do I add or remove an account?
Settings → Accounts → Add. To remove an account, open Manage next to it: its local copy of mail, calendars and contacts and its saved password or sign-in are deleted from your PC.
New mail notifications don't show up
Make sure Settings → Notifications → New mail is on and quiet hours aren't active, and that notifications for Vaimail are allowed in Windows Settings → System → Notifications (Do not disturb also hides them). The close button keeps Vaimail running in the tray so mail keeps being checked; to quit, use Exit in the tray icon's menu.
How do I make Vaimail my default mail app?
Settings → Default mail app → Windows settings, then choose Vaimail for MAILTO. After that, links to email addresses open a new message in Vaimail.
How do I change the language or the theme?
Settings → Interface language (14 languages, applies after a restart) and Settings → Theme: light, dark or as in Windows.
Where is my mail stored? Is it private?
Only on your PC. Vaimail has no server of its own: mail, events and contacts go straight between your PC and your mail providers. Passwords and tokens are kept in the Windows Credential Locker. No ads, analytics or telemetry. Details are in the privacy policy.
How do I report a problem?
Write what you did, what you expected and what happened, and add the version from Settings → About. If the app misbehaves, a log helps a lot: it is in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\SiarheiTarasenka.Skrynka_gnn7aye4ygbxm\LocalState\logs (it contains no message contents, passwords or tokens).
